Trump has been fired?

Image by Wordswag - words by Michael de Groot

Is it really true? Well if you listen to his narcissistic psychopathic comments, then no, it’s not happening. He’s throwing everything and the kitchen sink at his final fake news rhetoric, which has been the biggest con in US history and the American people fell for it and nearly did again this time round.

Where as Joe Biden told his supporters to be patient, wait for the vote counting to be conclusive, that he was confident but wanted to get certainty and then that certainty arrived on Saturday evening when the news networks called it after the results in Pennsylvania. Okay so the counting hasn’t completed 100% and after all there will be a recount in Georgia because the margin is within 0.5%. Plus on top of that there will be legal wrangling to be completed too.

This time though Trump is wasting his time, he’d better save his money for 2021 when as an ex-president he will be taken to court for many other law breaking deeds throughout his life and maybe even throughout his presidency who knows. More stories will follow from previous staffers on how bad things had been. We already knew this, but the American people were blind. I’m using ‘were’ because many have seen the light now and thankfully they did. Not only have they save America, they have saved the world too.

And here are the speeches by Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.

The eyes of the world are upon America and the American people and our eyes will be on them for the next 4 years. Did they call it right, will things really change? Will Trump really be out of the picture?

Let’s hope so ‘folks’, Joe’s favourite word!

The last 4 years have been long very long, that psychopath Trump will be gone, gone, gone and hopefully in jail very soon. Confirmation bias is such a big issue for 50% of America at the moment. Trump has been very successful in spreading lies this way. He tells a lie and then his followers will search for the evidence and confirm it for him.

Why Trump has been a gift to America and the rest of the world?

Because we now totally and utterly appreciate what kind of leader we don’t need in this world. We will also recognise more of the wrong leaders in the world, after all, Trump modelled himself on other leaders that went before him and we do know that there are many little Trumps walking the earth, in charge of countries and organisations. Hopefully they will be exposed and removed soon.

Here’s Barack Obama’s blogpost congratulating Joe.

Good luck America, Joe, Kamala and the whole team they decide to appoint into their new administration. You all deserve this SO much. We look forward to you leading the world again and showing us how to lead with ‘character’.

May the healing begin…

All the President’s men and women!

Donald Trump Twitter video October 6, 2020

Donald Trump our favourite President of the USA, stated in this video clip;

…and maybe I’m immune!

https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/1313267615083761665?s=21

…whilst he infected most of his staff!

Just a few weeks left until the US Presidential election and the polls suggest that Joe Biden is ahead, but they said the same about Hilary in 2016 and she lost although she did win the popular vote. How incredibly weird that you can win the popular vote but not win the election. I definitely don’t understand US politics, but one thing’s for sure, DT is a dangerous person.

He creates his own spin, 24/7, it’s called Twitter, as I write this newsletter on a platform created by one of it’s previous founders! Ev Williams.

Political leaders are supposed to set an example to the rest of the country’s citizens. He’s been a terrible example not just through the current pandemic, throughout his total tenure as President for the past 4 years.

We have followed his journey and all the incredible stuff that happened along the way. We have drawn a few cartoons over the past 4 years to show the ridiculousness of his leadership, the lies, that tantrums and the sackings.

I thought you might enjoy them. You can view them all here:

Why do many British people not like Donald Trump?

Trump Wrecking Ball — by Michael de Groot

https://qr.ae/pNru2z[embed]https://www.quora.com/profile/Nate-White-44[/embed]

This is THE best summary of Donald Trump I have ever read. It is a superb summary of what we think in the U.K.

This was originally answered on Quora by Nat White but for some reason the response was deleted by Quora, nobody knows why. The response was also covered extensively by many publications all over the world. I have searched for Nat White everywhere, Twitter, LinkedIn and the web but have come up with nothing. If you know him or can find him, I’d love to interview him on my podcast, link below. 👇

[embed]https://www.quora.com/profile/Nate-White-44[/embed]

Someone asked “Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?”

Nate White, an articulate and witty writer from England, wrote this magnificent response:

A few things spring to mind;

Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem.

For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace – all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed.

So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief.

Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever.

I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman.

But with Trump, it’s a fact. He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.

Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers.

And scarily, he doesn’t just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness.

There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. It’s all surface.

Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront.

Well, we don’t. We see it as having no inner world, no soul.

And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist.

Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that.

He’s not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat.

He’s more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege.

And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully.

That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead.

There are unspoken rules to this stuff – the Queensberry rules of basic decency – and he breaks them all. He punches downwards – which a gentleman should, would, could never do – and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless – and he kicks them when they are down.

So the fact that a significant minority – perhaps a third – of Americans look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think ‘Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy’ is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that:

Americans are supposed to be nicer than us, and mostly are.

You don’t need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man.

This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty bloody hard to miss.

After all, it’s impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum.

God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid.

He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W. look smart.

In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump.

And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumpfuls of hair and scream in anguish:

‘My God… what… have… I… created?’

If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set.

Thank you Nate White, I hope you find this piece and share your handle, so I can tag you accordingly. Cheers!

We’ve portrayed Trump previously as ‘Pinocchio’. We were inspired to produce this one based on the ‘stories’ that come out of the Whitehouse on a regular basis. Enjoy!

He tells them that they are fake news, whilst he’s the one telling the biggest stories ever told.

Donald Trump blocking the Caravan — Michael & Josh — #weeklycartoon

The Pentagon is sending over 15,000 troops to the border with Mexico as thousands of Central American migrants walk towards the US in a caravan. You know who is being quite vocal over it all. It inspired our latest cartoon.

The US is like the old Wild West with Trump in charge. I picture him on horseback down the streets of Washington DC, wielding is rifle.

Sending a letter to Steven Avery

Netflix Design Team

So, I came across a tweet by Kathleen Zellner — Law Offices of Kathleen T. Zellner, the lawyer who is working incredibly hard to prove Steven Avery’s innocence. It contained a few words by Steven, including his prison address if you’d like to write to him?

[embed]https://twitter.com/ZellnerLaw/status/1057026464523141122[/embed]

We only caught up with his story this year and have just finished watching season 2 of the documentary. It definitely is the best produced documentary I have ever watched, it is raw, very very real and heart breaking.

So here is my letter to Steven, which I am posting today.

Dear Steven

It’s only a short note but it is coming to you with love and best wishes. It’s only this year that my wife and I watched the first MAM on Netflix and we were astounded, upset and very angry with the US legal system. Then we watched MAM2 and we are delighted of course that Kathleen Zellner has taken on your case and she’s truly an amazing individual. We are setting the best intentions that Kathleen will have a major breakthrough on your behalf and is able to overturn the biggest crime of this century. We could see instantly the character of that disgusting man, the prosecutor, I won’t even bother to mention his name here. It is so clear to see what has occurred and it’s totally obvious what’s going on in the US legal system, just incredible. We’re equally disgusted with the whole Brendan case.

Keep strong, believe and remain focussed on the day that you will walk free again.

This is the intention mantra I have written for you.

“I am innocent, I am free and I’m living in joy and happiness”.

Just repeat this daily, either in your head or out-loud, it doesn’t matter if people hear you, they may wish to join in and replace it with the following sentence.

“Steven is innocent, Steven is free and he’s living in joy and happiness”.

Then move into the ‘art of allowing’. Release the thoughts of what might be, just focus on the outcome, not on the events, episodes, rumours and hear-say. Just keep focussed on that mantra.

It will work.

Wishing you a long life in freedom very soon.

Michael

It may help him, maybe not and maybe Kathleen won’t succeed, but this whole story is such a clear example of never giving up. Never giving up on your dreams, your aspirations and your goals.

Do write Steven a letter from you, help him to continue to believe that his life will be happy again.

Thank you!

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Brett Kavanaugh and The Muppet Show

Dr Christine Blasey Ford, Brett Kavanaugh hearing — Michael & Josh #weeklycartoon

After following the Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh’s testimonies in connection with the sexual assault incident, it reminded me of The Muppet Show with these old guys sitting in their box shouting abuse at the performance.

It inspired my thought process for our latest cartoon.

Freedom of Speech

Freedom of Speech on LinkedIn — Michael & Josh #dailycartoon

World politics are in the news 24/7 and we all struggle to get away from the stories that invoke our emotions. Whether we like it or not politics influence the lives around us, the cost of products and services and our general wellbeing. We wish to express our opinions on social networks to perhaps create a movement, a useful debate and share what we think and feel. But some of us prefer to stay away from these discussions and object. Andrew Pain asked us if this would be a good topic for a cartoon and I agree it is.

Xi Jinping and Trump in Trade Wars

Xi Jinping and Donald Trump standoff trade wars — Michael & Josh #dailycartoon

The US and China have gone all out on the trade wars. Early March #Trump felt it would be an easy #win. It’s not turning out such an easy win. Go figure! China has released a list of 106 US products which will incur a new 25% tariff (unless Donald Trump backs down). The spat inspired our latest cartoon.

You can understand why the US wants to protect it’s own manufacturing base but it somehow looks like it’s too late now. Sure Trump will have a go, but likely the US economy will suffer. China will show it’s might.

Rex Tillerson was sacked via Twitter. Rex is a dog’s name right? He was such a loyal dog to Donald Trump. But as the saying goes every dog has his day and unfortunately it was Rex’s time. He inspired our latest cartoon.

It really is a new dawn in the era of social media and hiring and firing of people, thanks to the President of the USA.

It’s being suggested that Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un are going to meet up in May 2018. You might assume it’s to discuss peace but then again it might be to compare each other’s military might. This cartoon suggests one view. Who knows what might happen?

Gun Control

Donald Trump by Michael & Josh #dailycartoon series

In February 2018 there was another sad school shooting in the USA. Gun control has been a major issue for the USA for decades and no president has been able to put in place the kind of controls that stop these kind of shootings.

Donald Trump declared that he wanted teachers to carry guns in schools to prevent these kind of incidents from happening again.

Putting guns into schools will attract more shootings.

Hoping that US citizens see sense and start the road to gun control and recovery.

This cartoon shows Donald Trump on horseback with a gun, depicting the old Wild West as a way to protect American schools.

Greed

After watching ‘Saving Capitalism’ https://www.netflix.com/title/80127558 with Robert Reich, former US secretary of labor (1993–1997) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Reich, I realised a number of things.

  1. The big US corporates are as corrupt as you can possibly imagine. They buy legislation through their donations to politicians. And it’s all been made legal by the way.
  2. We fund this. Yes you and me, we are the ones that are buying the produce made by these big global corporates and from their massive profits they buy favours (favors) from the US political system.
  3. Simple then, stop buying from them. I know, I know, we have to buy our fuel, our utilities, our food, (our healthcare in the case of the US) and our homes, but even then we also know we are paying over the odds, we are over-consuming all the time. Just start cutting back, REDUCE!
Michael de Groot

There’s no point protesting as nobody really ever wins via that route, the only voice they will hear is when you hit them where it hurts. Their profits, the bonuses, the big pay-packets and stop them from being able to buy those favours from Washington, London and maybe every major city in the world.

We actually have the biggest voice and we are not using it.

Happy protesting!

Donald Trump

Will 2018 be the year when Donald Trump (US President) be found out and proven to be corrupt and have used Russian ties to seal his presidency in 2016?

Probably not.

Just like Brexit is becoming a daily dose of non-sense so are Trumps constant stream of tweets filled with abusive and threatening language to the rest of the world. It’s as if he’s trying desperately to be loved by ‘The American People’.

By using language, in every other sentence, like ‘USA First’, he’s trying to get as much of the USA on his side. After all it’s this sort of language that managed to get him the presidency in the first place, so why not keep using it?

No matter what he does, as long as he keeps stating that he’s doing it in the interest of ‘The American People’ then ‘They’ will continue to believe him, right?

Patriotic feelings is something most people have towards the country of their birth, but in the USA it’s something that has always been very strong. Kids grow up being brainwashed so much about this that a very large percentage have never travelled outside of the USA and I promise when I say, I have even met people who have no idea where Europe is.

Trump will potentially be regarded as the MOST unpopular US president in history and he believes that can’t be a bad thing.

The stock markets believe that when there’s growth there’s profit and where there’s profit there will be dividends.

That’s basically the only reason Trump will likely last his full term.

Money talks…
