We had a news conference in the U.K. today advising us that the Indian Covid-19 variant, B.1.617.2 is of serious concern and rates doubled in a week.
It sounds more like the latest iOS software release than a virus variant.
Basically this variant could cause some disruption to the U.K’s opening up plans, which start on May 17th.
I’ve always said that as a human species we’re far too optimistic about the future instead of realistic. It was never going to be okay for the U.K. to get back to normal when the rest of the world is still struggling with high infection rates. We should have been slower in promising the world to the U.K. population on the basis that if you get your vaccine you will be able to get back to holidays, foreign travel and hugging people.
